This novella is my first published work. Though the book has been in the making for more than two years, I loved every moment of writing. I was born with Cerebral Palsy, which is a fancy name that simply means my muscles function differently.
Typically, strangers I pass when I’m out and about see me motoring in my wheelchair and judge me by my disability. The point of this story is to lift the stereotypical veil that surrounds people with disabilities and show that we are not feeble as people may believe. In, The Crave, Mike personifies the strength and perseverance that lies within people with disabilities.
Because of my physical limitations, I am unable to use a normal keyboard and mouse. I wrote this novella using an eye-gaze computer typing one letter at a time. It has been a long, arduous process for me but, given the choice, I would do it again.
I am a Communications major at Kennesaw State University, aspiring to become a journalist. When I’m not writing novellas, I write articles as a staff writer for KSU’s student newspaper, The Sentinel.
In many ways, the story of author Kevin Enners is the story.
